Why Hiring Offshore Staff Works

Mar 06 /

When Brisbane office administrator Jackie Tan’s boss offered help with her administration duties, she was incredibly relieved; until she was told that help would be based in the Philippines.

The news had Jackie, who has worked with Brisbane’s Grassroots IT for the past years, immediately concerned about how she would train and then work with a staff member located so far away. “I had my way of doing things and my first reaction was ‘but how is she going to do that from another office’,” Jackie admitted.

The result was finding new efficiencies in processes and a valuable new colleague.

In Episode 4, Season 1 of The Corner Office, Jackie talks with Aimee about her experience of onboarding, training and working effectively with a staff member who lives and works in the Philippines.
